WHAT
Spank Dance Company presents Austin Works in Progress (A-W.I.P.)
A-W.I.P. is a performance opportunity for local artists and art enthusiasts to engage in a open, honest dialogue about presented work. For each show, three selected choreographers will present their W.I.P., immediately followed by a facilitated question and answer dialogue with the audience. Artists will gain valuable critique and insight into their work and also answer questions for the audience. Audience members will directly engage with the artists, ask questions, and offer thoughts and feedback. A-W.I.P. will help local audience members and artists interact in a professional setting with the intention of better connecting artists to their community.
WHO
A-W.I.P. is open to all Austin-area independent choreographers, dance companies and movement-based performance artists who wish to take part in the a facilitated response process with local audiences. Performances are open to the public and audience reaction is appreciated and vital to the response process.
WHEN & WHERE
Every 1st Thursday of the month on SVT’s second stage at 8pm
Fall Dates: October 7th, November 4th, and December 2nd
Spring Dates: February 3rd, March 3rd, April 7th and May 5th
HOW TO APPLY
download the application form and submit at least 1 month before the performance date- spots will be filled as applications come in, so don’t wait. We are currently accepting applications for fall 2010.
