WHAT


Spank Dance Company and Ready/Set/Go! present Austin Works in Progress (A-W.I.P.)  A-W.I.P.   is a performance opportunity for local artists and art enthusiasts to engage in a positive, open dialogue about presented work.  For each show, three selected choreographers present their work, immediately followed by a facilitated question and answer session with the audience based on the Liz Lerman critical response process.  Artists gain valuable insight into their work and have the opportunity to question the audience.  Audience members directly engage with the artists, ask questions, and offer thoughts and feedback.  A-W.I.P. helps local audience members and artists interact in a professional setting with the intention of better connecting artists to their community, fostering creative development and increasing appreciation for dance.


This spring, Spank and Ready/Set/Go! will transition the ownership of

A-W.I.P. to a group of up and coming choreographers and leaders from Austin Community College, Lindsay Robinson, Parker Timmons and Yvonne Keyrouz. We are very excited to have this energetic group hosting, and continuing on A-W.I.P.

WHO


A-W.I.P. is open to all Austin-area independent choreographers, dance companies and movement-based performance artists who wish to take part in the a facilitated response process with local audiences.  Artists of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Every 2nd Thursday of the month on SVT’s second stage at 8pm


Spring Dates: February 9th, March 8th, and April 12th
